Thanks to the #MeToo movement, the curtain has been pulled back on inappropriate and predatory behavior in all walks of life; there is greater awareness of these realities than ever before.
At first, sexual assault reports can appear to be “He said, she said” scenarios, where there are little investigators can do to corroborate the accused or accuser’s stories. Unfortunately, experienced sexual assault investigators are familiar with these scenarios.
There can’t always be forensic evidence to work with, but police can still prove sexual assault occurred or didn’t occur with little to no initial evidence, even in cases where there are no witnesses.
Grabbing, slapping, or pinching a woman's bottom without her consent is sexual assault, despite what many people think... groping, unwanted touching, and indecent exposure is also considered sexual harassment.
Perpetrators of sexual harassment, assault, and rape know right from wrong. They are fully aware of the potential consequences of being apprehended. They have an uncanny ability to ignore them long enough to do what they want, all the while maintaining a sense of invincibility.
Girlfriends and wives that sit on the “Sidelines” and watch, listen, and remain silent, some for years, may or may not know about their partners inappropriate and predatory behavior.
Their partners manipulation flies under the radar for months, even years.
Yet they remain silent as does the public on sexual predators. We tend to offer a shoulder to cry on rather than a proper investigation into their behavior.
